Purpose

The purpose of the Migrant Education Program (MEP) is to design and support programs that help migrant students overcome the challenges of mobility, cultural and language barriers, social isolation, and other difficulties associated with a migratory lifestyle. These efforts are aimed at helping migrant students succeed in school and successfully transition to post secondary education or employment.

Pearsall ISD participates in the Education Service Center (ESC) 20-Shared Services Arrangement. As part of the SSA, Pearsall ISD forwards our Title I, Part C funds to ESC-20. In return ESC-20 takes fiscal responsibility for managing LEA funds as well as overseeing and managing state and federal compliance issues. In addition, ESC-20 provides supplemental support to migrant students, such as Leadership Academies, counseling/advising, credit recovery, community referral services, etc.
